Best Vintage Ever

We thought 2015 was a very good year, but we have only just realised how good.

The grapes were handpicked and sorted and chilled immediately. The next day, after crushing, they were cold soaked to extract colour and flavour prior to fermentation in an open vat with 10% whole bunches and a small addition of toasted stems. After gentle pressing in a basket press the wine spent 18 months in French Oak barriques - Sirugue and Francois Freres, one third new, one third one year, one third two year - was racked but not filtered, then bottled in our winery. At $42, the price hasn’t changed since 2006. But we are thinking about it....
